Ag Show Development Grants 2024-25 Now Open

Show societies will benefit from the Agricultural Show Development Grants Program 2024-25 with applications opening on Monday (21 October).

Minister for Primary Industries and Water, Jane Howlett, said the 2024-25 State Budget provided funding of $175,000 for the grants.

"The funding aims to secure the future of our agricultural shows so they can continue to bring together regional communities into the future," Minister Howlett said.

"Our agricultural sector is a big part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future and this announcement delivers our election commitment to extend the Agricultural Shows Small Grants program for a further three years.

"Applicants can apply for one grant, up to a maximum of $20,000, for use towards infrastructure projects, improved organisational governance, planning or use of technology.

"Infrastructure improvements that provide for better accessibility are especially encouraged."

Types of Infrastructure projects include upgrading and maintaining existing infrastructure or constructing new infrastructure to meet safety and compliance standards, enhance amenity or expand capacity.

Improved organisational governance, planning or use of technology aims to assist agricultural show societies improve the way their organisation operates.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Applicants must have appropriate levels of public liability insurance. A copy of the applicant's current public liability insurance cover must be attached to the application.

For infrastructure projects, applicants who do not own their property must include:
