Aggravated Assault Arrest in Alice Springs

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 43-year-old woman in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred in Alice Springs earlier today.

Around 12.25pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a woman had been assaulted in a licensed premises on Todd Street.

The offender allegedly struck the 32-year-old victim with a blunt weapon resulting in injuries to her head.

Emergency services responded and the victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The 43-year-old offender, who is believed to be known to the victim, was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody.
