Aggravated Robbery, Glenorchy Bike Track

A 15-year-old has been charged with aggravated robbery following an incident on the Intercity Cycleway overlooking Howard Road, Glenorchy at 5pm on Saturday.

It is alleged the youth was in the company of others when they approached the victim, a cyclist who was riding towards them, and pulled him from his bike before assaulting him.

The charged youth and another in the group then took the victim's mountain bike, which had an e-bike conversion pack, and rode from the scene.

The victim sustained facial injuries and required hospital treatment.

Investigations are ongoing, and police would like to hear from a person who was parked on Howard Road in a white van at the time, and witnessed the incident.
