Aggravated Robbery in Yarrawonga: Police Seek Leads

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after an aggravated robbery occurred in Yarrawonga on Saturday morning.

Around 6am, police received reports that four males had entered a premises on Tulagi Road and allegedly attempted to steal a Toyota Landcruiser Utility.

The owner was alerted to the theft when he heard the vehicle engine start and subsequently confronted the males who were armed with edged weapons and began making threats.

One of the males entered the vehicle and rammed the front gate, prompting the last three offenders to enter the vehicle and begin driving away.

The owner jumped into the utility tray as the offenders attempted to flee at which time they began driving recklessly in an attempt to throw him from the vehicle.

After a distance of approximately 400m the vehicle crashed into a tree and the offenders fled into nearby bushland.

The owner of the vehicle contacted police and then received treatment for minor injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
