The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) has announced changes to its Board.
The following directors have joined the National Board.
- Kathleen Bailey-Lord FAICD - Victorian Division Director
- Sibylle Brautigam GAICD - Northern Territory (NT) Division Director
- Susan Forrester AM FAICD - Queensland Division Director
- Paul Vorbach FAICD - New South Wales Division Director
Ms Brautigam's appointment means the AICD Board now has representation from all states and territories.
Ms Bailey-Lord and Ms Forrester replace Rebecca McGrath FAICD and Anne Cross AM FAICD who retired from the board following completion of their term.
Mr Vorbach was appointed to the vacant NSW Division Director position.
Following the retirement of AICD Deputy Chair Anne Cross AM FAICD, the Board has elected current National Director Heith Mackay-Cruise FAICD as its new Deputy Chair.
AICD Chair Naomi Edwards thanked Rebecca and Anne for the significant contribution they made to the AICD over many years.
She also congratulated the new directors on their appointments and said the Institute looks forward to benefitting from their expertise, specialist skills and insights.
Biographies
Kathleen Bailey-Lord FAICD
Kathleen has over 25 years' experience on boards across the listed, private and for purpose sectors. Building on a senior executive career that spanned technology, financial and professional services, she has added utilities, education and the health sector to her portfolio.
With a career focussed on leading businesses through complex adaptation and change, Kathleen leverages her knowledge of digital technology, disruptive change, leadership and culture to encourage enterprises to embrace the opportunities and challenges of our age to build value for all stakeholders. Known for her curiosity, passion for continuous learning, optimism and eye to the future, she believes that together, people and technology can make the world a better place - with conscious decision-making and effective governance.
She currently serves as a director of AMP Limited, St Vincents Health Australia, Datacom Group Limited and as Chair of Janison Education Sers Limited.
Susan Forrester AM FAICD
Susan is a highly respected professional Australian Chair and Company Director, with global experience.
With a powerful blend of management, board, and consulting expertise across ASX-listed, public, and private companies, Susan brings a pragmatic approach to her board contributions, drawing on her background in law, HR, business, strategy and governance.
Her board portfolio is presently comprised fast growing companies in the technology sector. She currently serves as the Chair of Jumbo Interactive and is a director of Data #3, Plenti Ltd and IRESS Ltd.
Susan's leadership and significant contributions to business through governance and strategic roles have been recognised with her appointment as a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia and a member of Chief Executive Women.
Paul Vorbach FAICD
Paul has 25 years' experience across corporate and advisory boards, including as Executive Director - Citicorp Investments Ltd and Citicorp Life Insurance Ltd, Treasurer and Non-Executive director, Australian Institute of Training and Development Ltd, Advisory Board Member, UTS Business School - Industry Advisory Board, and the Australian Institute of Management, Academic Advisory Board.
Paul's early career was in the financial services sector with Deloitte and Citi. Since 2002, Paul has worked in academia and professional education, including with universities, professional associations and management consultancies in over twenty countries across five continents.
Paul is Managing Director of AcademyGlobal Pty Limited, a firm he founded in 2004. He is currently Adjunct Faculty at the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales; National Councillor and NSW Chair, Institute of Strategic Risk
Management, and previously Honorary Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Technology Sydney.
Sibylle Brautigam GAICD
Sibylle is an accomplished director and chair with over 15 years board-level experience and nearly three decades in both the private and public sectors. Her expertise
spans leadership and governance, mining, government strategy and operations, economic development, Indigenous affairs, state budget development, vocational education and training (VET), housing and infrastructure.
Her executive career spanned more than 27 years across nine government departments and several portfolio areas. She advised and collaborated with national and state governments, ministers, industry leaders and community groups.
Her roles included Executive Lead for the Territory Economic Reconstruction Commission, Deputy CEO for the NT Department of Trade, Business and Innovation and Executive Director Strategic and Federal Policy for the NT Department of the Chief Minister.
