A month of preparation has finally concluded, with the Australian International Airshow 2025, ready to welcome the public over three action packed days.
This years' event is shaping up to be the biggest in the air show's 33-year history, with 902 exhibitors from 28 nations, around 350 aircraft displayed in the air and on the ground, international aircraft displays from five visiting nations and 45 different aircraft conducting flying displays.
Director General Australian International Airshow, Air Commodore Scott Winchester, stated the Australian International Airshow provides the ADF a tremendous opportunity to engage with industry, visiting defence forces, and most importantly, the Australian public.
"Our ADF always looks forward to participating in this tremendous event, being able to showcase what we do, day in and day out, with the Australian Public," Air Commodore Winchester said.
"We are able to showcase not only our very capable aircraft and equipment but most importantly, our incredible people.
"There will be an opportunity to engage with people from a wide range of different jobs, learn about career opportunities, and see how passionate our people are about their jobs."
More than 7500 secondary school and tertiary students and educators registered for the careers day, with a focus on ADF science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) cadetships highlighting unique and specialised pathways into a career with Defence.
Deputy Director General Australian International Airshow, Group Captain David Glasson, stated the public can expect an exhilarating flying display program, as well as a wide variety of interesting and interactive ground displays at this year's air show.
"The ADF showcase will feature a number of solo Air Force and Navy displays with the highpoint of the ADF Showcase being the concentrated and coordinated displays," Group Captain Glasson said.
"There will be flying displays from our fast jet fighters, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft, large air mobility aircraft, heritage aircraft, helicopters and, always a crowd favourite, the Roulettes.
"On the ground, we will provide the public the opportunity to interact with a series of capability themed ground displays that highlight the interoperability of the ADF", Group Captain Glasson said.
The Australian International Airshow is the 4th largest in the world.
There will be displays from aircraft such as the F-35A Lightning II, FA-18F Super Hornet, P-8A Poseidon, C-17A Globemaster and MQ-28 Ghost Bat.
Ground capability displays that include state of the art radar and information systems, aeromedical evacuation team, drone racing and military working dogs, including puppies in training.
A number of foreign aircraft will be on display, including tremendous aerial displays from the United States Air Force F-22 and F-16 demonstration teams.
