Airservices Australia's air traffic control (ATC) and supporting air traffic services staff have voted to approve a new three-year enterprise agreement.
The agreement is the result of extensive good faith negotiations with Civil Air, the union representing the majority of ATCs and supporting staff, and a number of individual bargaining representatives.
Overall, the agreement includes:
– A pay increase of 11.2% over three years (4% on certification, 3.8% in year 2, and 3.4% in year 3) which is in line with the Commonwealth pay offer
– $8,000 (gross) sign-on bonus which can be taken as payment or redirected towards superannuation
– A multi-location allowance which will build extra operational resilience across our network
– A refined classification structure with a focus on acquiring and maintaining qualifications and currency to ensure operational readiness
– Better recognition for On-the-Job Training Instructors to encourage participation in an enhanced training program
– An increase in the Ab Initio Trainee* rate from commencement of employment, to expand the recruit pool and the retention of current Ab Initio Trainees.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Peter Curran, said he was pleased the new agreement had been endorsed as it would give staff certainty on what their future with Airservices Australia holds in terms of pay and benefits.
"My thanks go to everyone who has participated in this process as the voices and input of our people have been instrumental in achieving this positive result," Mr Curran said.
"This agreement will enable us to build operational resilience so we can provide the best possible service for Australia's aviation industry and the travelling public."
All notified protected industrial actions have been formally terminated following the declaration of the ballot.
