Devlyn Construction has been announced as the managing contractor for the $2 million expansion of the Albany Health Campus car park, with construction expected to get underway in the coming weeks.
The car park expansion will see an additional 100 bays added to the site.
The additional bays will give staff, patients and visitors more capacity and choice of location when parking on-site.
Work are expected to begin in February 2025 and have been planned to minimise impact to patients, visitors and staff throughout the construction period and follow the recent $4 million upgrade to the special care nursery at Albany Health Campus.
The project also includes new wayfinding, pathways and crosswalks, as well as CCTV and security lighting.
As stated by Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:
"The Cook Government has invested more than $2 million to make it easier for patients and staff to access Albany Health Campus.
"As part of this, we're also upgrading lighting and CCTV to support staff and patient safety when accessing the hospital."
As stated by Albany MLA Rebecca Stephens:
"The community told me we needed more car bays at Albany Health Campus, and we have listened and are delivering this at the hospital.
"This is all part of our commitment to supporting patients, visitors and staff with not only world-class healthcare facilities, but also the supporting infrastructure they need."
