As stated by Lands and Housing Minister John Carey:

"The Cook Labor Government continues to do everything it can to boost housing in Albany and across Western Australia, and we're investing a record $4.5 billion into housing and homelessness measures.

"The release of these three strategically located lots will provide new mixed-use development opportunities and medium density housing that could provide up to 70 new homes at Albany's iconic Middleton Beach - in apartments and townhouses.

"In 2024, the Cook Government released 55 residential lots to market in 2024 across Clydesdale Park and Oyster Harbour.

"Existing service developments at Clydesdale Park and Oyster Harbour will already deliver more than 800 lots in future years to the Albany community.

"Only our WA Labor Government has the experience, policy measures and a clear plan to deliver more housing and land in the Great Southern and across regional Western Australia."

As stated by Albany MLA Rebecca Stephens:

"The Cook Government continues to plan and deliver more housing and commercial opportunities in Albany and the Great Southern.

"These three new lots, released to market could deliver up to 70 new homes in Middleton Beach and provide more local economic growth opportunities for retail, medical services, eateries, or other community-related businesses.

"This is another brilliant result for the Albany community, and I'll continue to advocate for new land and housing releases for locals, following the release of 55 new residential lots in Clydesdale Park and Oyster Harbour estates in 2024 alone."
