The Cook Labor Government has today released a further 19 new residential lots in Oyster Harbour to further bolster housing and land supply in Albany.

As part of the 19 lots, two will be retained to deliver new social housing in Albany, while the other 17 have now been released to market.

This is the Cook Labor Government's second residential land release this year in Albany, with the first release taking place in April 2024 at Clydesdale Park. This stage brings the total number of residential lots released in Albany to market this year to 55, seven of which have allocated to social housing.

The Oyster Harbour lots are priced from $210,000 and range in size from 576m square metres to 754 square metres.

The lots in Oyster Harbour are generously sized and located in close proximity to established community amenities, the Albany CBD, and local schools.

Local contractor Nigel Palmer Earthmoving was awarded the civil works contract, which generates local employment opportunities and supports the Great Southern economy.

Construction of these lots is well underway and anticipated to be completed by the end of the year. Titles are expected early 2025.

As stated by Lands and Housing Minister John Carey:

"The Cook Labor Government is getting on with the job in delivering our record $3.6 billion investment in housing and homelessness measures and today we've released another 19 new residential lots in Albany.

"Importantly, two lots will be developed to deliver new social housing, while the other 17 lots are now available to provide more housing to people in the Great Southern.

"Our Government continues to deliver on its commitment by providing affordable housing options for homebuyers and providing more social housing for the most vulnerable members of our community."

As stated by Albany MLA Rebecca Stephens:

"Oyster Harbour is becoming one of the fastest-growing suburbs in Albany and I'm pleased to be part of the Cook Government as we release another 19 new residential housing lots in our local community.

"These new residential lots bring the Cook Labor Government's total number of new residential lots delivered in Albany in 2024 alone to 55 across Clydesdale Park and Oyster Harbour, demonstrating our clear commitment to boost housing in Albany."
