Northern Territory Police have seized a quantity of drugs and alcohol destined for remote communities in the Victoria River Region.
Yesterday, officers were returning from successfully arresting and conveying a Domestic Violence offender to Katherine, and were conducting traffic campaigns.
A suspicious vehicle was apprehended containing 0.88kg of cannabis, 31 litres of alcohol and items indicative of drug supply.
A Notice to Appear was issued to the driver of the vehicle and all illicit substances seized.
Remote Sergeant Caitlin Hughes said " Northern Territory Police are at the coalface of combating substance abuse everyday and the supply of these substances is a known catalyst for harm.
" Police can be Anywhere; Anytime intercepting those attempting to take advantage of vulnerable communities.
"Anyone with information on the supply of alcohol or drugs into remote communities can call police on 131 444 or make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
