Alice Springs Child Indecency: Police Lay Charges

Northern Territory Police Southern Child Abuse Taskforce have arrested a male youth in relation to an indecent act on a child incident that occurred in the Arumbera region, Alice Springs last week.

At 5.35pm on Thursday 27 June, police responded to a report of a child aged between 12-16 years old allegedly being assaulted by a male unknown to them, and commenced investigations.

The 15 year-old alleged offender was arrested on the morning of Friday 28 June without incident and has been charged with Burglary and committing an Indecent act on a child.

He has been remanded to appear in court today.

Northern Territory Police urges anyone who witnesses, or knows knowledge of, a crime to immediately make contact on 131 444, or in an emergency to call Triple Zero (000).
