The NSW Nationals are pleased to announce that Alison Penfold has been preselected to stand for the seat of Lyne at the forthcoming Federal Election.
A preselection meeting was held in Taree following the announcement by the Hon Dr David Gillespie that he won't be contesting the next election.
A Wauchope local, Alison was raised and educated in the Manning Valley. With an extensive background in government and private enterprise, she is looking forward to giving back to the community that has given her so much.
"I am beyond honoured to have been given this opportunity, and the people of Lyne can rest assured I will do everything I can to stand up for them," Ms Penfold said.
Dr Gillespie welcomed the preselection result, saying Ms Penfold will be an outstanding candidate.
"I am proud to say I have known Alison for a long time and can think of no-one better to stand up for The Nationals in Lyne," Dr Gillespie said.
NSW Nationals Chairman Rick Colless said Ms Penfold will bring extensive experience and knowledge.
"Alison is a person who knows how to get things done. She will be a tremendous asset to our Federal team and a tremendous representative for the people of Lyne," Mr Colless said.
The NSW Nationals would again like to thank Dr Gillespie for his dedication and service since being elected the Member for Lyne in 2013.
