The Eurobodalla Aboriginal Health team were on hand to support Aboriginal Affairs NSW's community event in Moruya in May.
Acknowledging the escalating cost of living impacting on our people's health and wellbeing, Aboriginal Affairs organised a pop-up food event and supported Foodbank ACT/NSW to supply fresh fruits and vegetables to the Aboriginal communities of Moruya, Mogo, Batemans Bay and Bodalla, free of charge.
The friendly Foodbank staff pulled up in their bright purple truck, unloaded approximately eight tonnes of produce and then assisted attendees to fill their shopping bags.
Our Southern staff were on hand to offer free flu vaccinations. It was heartening to hear that many offered the free vaccination had already received it, to help protect themselves and community.
The team also ensured our elders who were not able to attend the event received a box of produce. Staff from the Family Place and Mogo Men's Group and Grand Pacific Health also made sure those most vulnerable members of our community also received a box of healthy goods.
