Allens has advised leading global solar developer Lightsource bp on its success in the Australian Government's Capacity Investment Scheme NEM Generation Tender, which will drive new renewable energy capacity in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
Lightsource bp's successful proposals include three significant solar projects in New South Wales and Victoria, one with integrated battery energy storage systems (BESS). The successful projects are Sandy Creek Solar Farm (700 MW), Goulburn River Solar Farm (450 MW) and West Mokoan Solar Farm (300 MW solar and 560 MWh BESS).
'Congratulations to Lightsource bp on this significant win. Once operational, these projects are expected to deliver substantial clean energy capacity and enhanced energy storage solutions for the NEM,' said Partner Danielle Jones.
'Lightsource bp's projects will play a pivotal role in advancing Australia's clean energy transition, bolstering grid stability, and supporting the nation's renewable energy targets. It's been a privilege to work with the Lightsource bp team on the tender process,' said lead Partner Kate Axup.
