A bride will be lucky not to miss her wedding today following a collision at Thomastown last night, Victoria Police say.
Greensborough Highway Patrol members were told a Nissan travelling north on Edgars Road collided with another vehicle at the Metropolitan Ring Road intersection about 10.05pm.
The driver of the Nissan, a 20-year-old Lalor man, underwent a preliminary breath test at the scene.
He was then required to undergo an evidentiary breath test that returned a reading of 0.154.
The man’s probationary driver’s licence was immediately suspended and he is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving, fail to obey a red light and fail to obey a licence condition.
The driver of the other car, 25-year-old Sunshine West woman, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The bride was released from hospital with bruising and soreness and will be married at 4pm today.
