A drink driver will spend his long weekend without a licence or a car after he was caught driving almost four times the legal alcohol limit in Colac this morning.
Police were patrolling as part of Operation Arid when they observed a Ford sedan travelling along Gellibrand Street about 1.15am on Saturday, 12 March.
The 36-year-old driver returned a positive roadside breath test and was taken to a police station where he returned an alleged evidentiary reading of .192.
The Colac man had his driver's licence suspended and his car was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1170.
He is also expected to be charged on summons with drink driving.
This impound forms part of Operation Arid, a state-wide road policing operation aimed at keeping the community safe on Victorian roads over the Labour Day long weekend.
Operation Arid will run from 12.01am on Friday 11 March until 11.59pm on Monday 14 March.
