We are working through a series of complex reviews into GP incentives, after-hours primary care and health workforce distribution, to ensure they lead to meaningful reform.
The federal government this week released three reviews into general practice incentives, after-hours primary care and health workforce distribution.
The reports are significant and collectively have a large number of intersecting recommendations. We are working through each review to find out what they mean for patients and our members.
For now, the completion of the reviews can certainly be seen as a positive step forward in modernising general practice funding and primary care workforce programs.
We have welcomed the government's attention to these issues, and these reviews recognise the need for reform in several key areas to improve primary care in Australia.
