The Australian Medical Association has launched "AMA neXt", an interactive online tool that allows doctors-in-training to compare employment conditions across different states and territories.
The Australian Medical Association has unveiled an innovative online tool designed to help doctors-in-training (DiTs) navigate the complex landscape of employment conditions across Australia's public health sector.
The National Employment Conditions Comparison Tool - dubbed AMA neXt - enables DiTs to easily compare and understand crucial workplace entitlements across different states and territories. The interactive platform presents clear, accessible information about salaries, working hours, penalty rates and leave entitlements throughout the country's public health system.
"Enterprise bargaining agreements and awards vary significantly between jurisdictions and can be notoriously difficult to interpret," explains AMA President Dr Danielle McMullen. "AMA neXt arrives at a critical time when many doctors-in-training are making important decisions about their career progression."
Dr Sanjay Hettige, Chair of the AMA Council of Doctors-in-Training said "recent Hospital Health Check reports have highlighted concerning issues around safety and fatigue among doctors-in-training. By providing transparent access to employment conditions nationwide, we're empowering DiTs to better understand and advocate for their workplace rights".
The tool is currently available to all users, reflecting the AMA's commitment to improving workplace conditions for doctors-in-training across Australia.
