Sixteen new paramedics will begin providing life-saving care to the Tasmanian community when they hit the road in coming weeks.
Most of these experienced paramedics have relocated to Tasmania from interstate or overseas to take up the roles, and are currently undertaking a four-week training and orientation program.
Minister for Health, Jacquie Petrusma, said the new paramedics will make a real difference to our communities across the State when their training is finalised.
"It's fantastic to welcome this latest group of new paramedics who will provide a valuable boost to Ambulance Tasmania's workforce," Minister Petrusma said.
"The group of 16 paramedics will be located in all three regions across the State, further boosting our frontline workforce and helping Tasmanians who need care.
"I look forward to welcoming more paramedics in the coming months as recruitment continues under our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future.
"As part of our biggest ever health recruitment blitz, we've now recruited more than 1,440 health workers since April.
"We will continue to invest in our frontline workers to ensure Tasmanians can receive the right care at the right place, at the right time."
The 16 paramedics are in addition to 40 others who have commenced in roles since May.
