Each year our Annual Report lets us share the progress we've made towards Council's strategic goals during the financial year.
This year we've focused on delivering services, projects and updates that benefit everyone in our community and transform the Boroondara customer experience.
Join us in celebrating what we've achieved together. In 2023-24:
- 43 consultations were open to feedback on our consultation website, Your Say Boroondara, and more than 5,947 contributions were made on projects, plans and local issues
- 4,067 children were supported through Boroondara Maternal and Child Health Services
- 59,885 tonnes of material was collected from kerbside bins and 42,765 tonnes were diverted from landfill
- 244 arts and cultural community events were delivered or supported
- 1,810 new trees were planted
- About 1,400 tonnes of autumn leaves were collected and recycled in our Heavy Leaf program
- 17,979 young people attended youth programs or services
- 179 groups received Council community grants totalling $2.3 million
- Solar panels were installed on 22 Council-owned community buildings
- 27,318 hours of support was provided to older people to help them remain active in our community
- 446 hectares of parks and reserves were maintained
- Boroondara libraries attracted over 800,000 visitors and recorded more than 6 million interactions, including visits, loans and program attendance
- 2,677 volunteer referrals were made by the Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre
- We reached our target average speed of 45 seconds to answer customer calls.
