To commemorate Anzac Day, a dawn service was held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Philippines.
Observing the date in the heart of Manila, Australian Defence Force and New Zealand Defence Force personnel stood side by side with representatives of the Philippines, Canada, the United Kingdom, Turkiye and the United Sates.
The commemoration was supported by an Armed Forces of the Philippines escort of honour, with the Australian national anthem performed by students from the British School of Manila.
Australian Defence Attaché to the Philippines Captain Emma McDonald-Kerr, from the Royal Australian Navy, was joined by senior members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines during the occasion.
"As service personnel we share these incredible bonds and friendships, but we also recognise the importance of commemorating occasions like these," she said.
"We are honoured to have Armed Forces of the Philippines personnel share that with us today."
Captain McDonald-Kerr recited the Ode of Remembrance and laid a wreath during the ceremony.
She reflected on the significance of marking Anzac Day overseas.
"It's always important to pause and to commemorate Anzac Day, regardless of where we are in the world," she said.
"We must pause and reflect for those who've gone before, and for those who didn't come back, as well as those who continue to carry the scars of their service."
After the ceremony, guests were invited to experience a traditional gunfire breakfast.
