Data you can find on ADE

We have migrated the recent and heavily used data from NZ.Stat to ADE and will be adding more data to the tool as it is released.

Migrated data from NZ.Stat includes:

  • agriculture,
  • business demography,
  • census (2013-2018),
  • corrections,
  • incomes,
  • injury,
  • iwi estimates (2018),
  • justice,
  • linked employer-employee data (LEED),
  • population estimates,
  • population projections, and
  • productivity.

Dataset mapping sheet

We have created a dataset mapping sheet to help NZ.Stat users find data sets that have been migrated. If you require more help with locating data on ADE please see our user guide or contact our Information Centre.

Census data

As new data is released under these topics it will be added to ADE. As well as the upcoming 2023 Census data, specifically the population and ethnicity data coming in October. It will be loaded into ADE, down to lower geographies, where you will be able to customise the charts and tables to see the original population, age, and ethnicity data as well as the newly released data.

Please visit 2023 Census Products and release finder for more detailed information on what is planned for release.

For 2001 and 2006 census data we are looking at how we will make these available to you once NZ.Stat is disconnected.

Non-migrated data

Some older unused data has not been migrated to the new tool but is still available in NZ.Stat. After the disconnection of NZ.Stat that data will be available through a free data request to our Information Centre.

  • Data not often used (tracked via google analytics)
  • Older data (1991-2014)
  • Some data is available in Infoshare (another data tool which will be replaced in a later phase)
