Four professors will argue for the importance of their disciplines during the Logos Philosophy Debate Club's annual Apocalypse debate Thursday, Nov. 9 in Goldwin Smith Room 132.
The debate includes professors from different fields, debating about why their discipline is the most vital for life to survive a global apocalypse. This year's professors include:
- Julia Markovits, associate professor of philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences
- Joseph McFadden, associate professor of animal science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
- Kilian Weinberger, professor of computer science in the Bowers College of Information Science
- Sam Nelson, director of forensics and senior lecturer in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations
Nelson, advisor for the Cornell Speech and Debate Society, will play the devil's advocate against all of the arguments presented.
