Police are investigating break-ins at multiple Sunshine Coast businesses overnight where thousands of dollars worth of tobacco was stolen.
Just before 3am a silver 2008 Toyota Camry stolen from an address in Stretton was driven to a supermarket on Jones Road at North Buderim.
The occupants of the car then smashed their way through the front doors of the business and attempted to gain entry to the cigarette cabinets, however were disturbed by staff members and fled empty-handed.
At the same time members of the group also broke into a neighbouring premises which sells tobacco and stole a large quantity of cigarette products. It is believed the same offenders attempted to break into the store on September 6, but were unsuccessful.
At around 3.30am the stolen Camry was driven to a supermarket on Blackall Street at Woombye where the occupants again smashed through the front glass doors and stole cigarettes and mobile phones before fleeing.
The stolen car (QLD registration 490STP) remains outstanding.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle or have dashcam of anything suspicious in the vicinity of the businesses at the time of the offences to come forward.
