Police are appealing for information following a fatal crash near Lithgow.
About 6pm on Friday 2 August 2024, emergency services responded to reports of two male pedestrians – aged 13 and 24 - being struck by a vehicle along the Great Western Highway, Bowenfels, approximately 3km south of Lithgow.
Bystanders performed CPR on the 13-year-old boy until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics where he was taken to Lithgow Hospital in a critical condition before being airlifted to Westmead Children's Hospital where he later died.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing to anyone in the area that may have dashcam footage of the motor vehicle, pedestrians and incident, in particular, a man seen pushing a bicycle who took photographs of the incident and left before speaking with police.
