Appeal after firearms stolen during break-in near Boggabilla

Police are appealing for public assistance after firearms were stolen during a break and enter in the state's far north.

Officers from New England Police District yesterday (Tuesday 5 October 2021) received reports of a break-in at a property on Bruxner Highway in North Star, near Boggabilla, sometime between Monday last week (27 September 2021) and Monday this week (4 October 2021).

Police have been told that during the break-in two rifles, a shotgun and ammunition were stolen from a safe.

Officers established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation.

As part of inquiries, police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident – or who has dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area during the mentioned period – to contact Boggabilla Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
