Appeal after flare incident at protest

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify three people after flares were released at a protest in Melbourne over the weekend.

Police are aware of several incidents where the flares were set off which endangered not only police but people in the vicinity of the incidents on Saturday 24 July.

Detectives have released images of three people, two men and a woman, they are hoping to speak with in relation to the incidents.

One of the men is believed to be aged in his late twenties to thirties, of slim build with short dark brown hair and was seen wearing a grey and black hooded jacket.

The other man is believed to be aged in his thirties, of medium build with short brown hair. He was seen wearing a plain black t-shirt.

The female pictured is believed to be aged in her twenties, of slim build with long brown hair. She was seen wearing a blue puffer jacket.
