Police have released CCTV images after two taxi drivers were assaulted in separate incidents at the weekend.
About 1.30am on Sunday 12 December 2021, two males entered a taxi on Market Street, near Kent Street, in the Sydney CBD.
Police were told the two males were involved in a verbal argument with the driver – a 48-year-old man – before he stopped the vehicle on Pyrmont Bridge Road, near Ada Place, Pyrmont.
One of the males headbutted the driver before the pair exited the vehicle.
A short time later, about 1.50am, police were told two males were seen punching and kicking a second taxi driver on Pyrmont Bridge Road before fleeing down Ada Place and onto Harris Street.
The driver – a 29-year-old man – was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.
Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were notified of the incidents and commenced an investigation into.
As inquiries continue, police have released images of two males who may be able to assist.
The first male depicted in the CCTV is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 20's, about 175cm tall, of medium build, with short blond hair and tattoos on his right leg. He is depicted wearing a blue jumper, white shorts, and white sneakers.
The second male depicted in the CCTV is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his early 20's, about 180cm tall, of average build, with dark-coloured hair in a mullet. He is depicted wearing a black jumper, long black pants, and white sneakers.
