Initial investigations indicate just before 12.30am, a 29-year-old man was stabbed by an unknown male outside a unit complex along Fairlawn Street after the male attempted to steal the man's keys.

The male left the scene in a white car, possibly a Toyota Corolla, prior to police arrival.

The 29-year-old Nathan man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing to witnesses, particularly nearby residents with CCTV or anyone with relevant dashcam vision, to come forward.
