Appeal for Witnesses: Assault in Broadbeach and Mermaid Beach

Gold Coast Detectives are appealing for vision after a woman was assaulted at Mermaid Beach on Wednesday, September 25.

The woman has told police a man followed her along Hedges Avenue from Broadbeach to Mermaid Beach when around 10.10pm she was grabbed and forced towards Ken Mansbridge Park.

The 24-year-old woman managed to break free from the man and seek help.

The man is described as aged in his mid to late 40's, brown skin, approximately 165 cm tall and was wearing a white shirt, cream shorts, black shoes, a baseball cap and carrying a dark jacket.

Police are also appealing to motorists with dashcam vision or nearby residents who have CCTV to come forward. Particularly between 9.45pm and 10.30pm on Wednesday, September 25 and in Montana Avenue where it is believed the offender ran after the offence.

Investigations are continuing.
