Appeal for witnesses – traffic crash in Toowoomba, QLD

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a traffic crash approximately 3 kilometres south of Leyburn this morning and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward, Queensland Police say.

Around 9.20am today, a green 2002 Holden Commodore Queensland Registration 591 XJI was travelling north along Toowoomba Karara Road before leaving the road and impacting with a tree.

The driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old man, was transported by air to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Police would like to speak to a witness who was first on the scene and who may be able to assist with investigations.

He is described as being Caucasian with grey hair, a slim build, aged in his 50’s and wearing a red jumper.
