A craving for the colonel is set to cost an alleged drunk driver after he was nabbed by police at a fast-food restaurant in Doncaster.
Unlike a certain 11 secret herbs and spices, drinking and driving are an original recipe for disaster.
The man's efforts quickly wound up in a twister when he caught the attention of staff for going the wrong way through the restaurant's drive through.
Officers were called to the outlet on Doncaster Road after the man's Honda sedan became stuck on the drive through curb about 9pm on Thursday, 13 June.
It took a lot more than a refresher towel to clean up the mess after the driver allegedly tested positive for alcohol during a roadside breath test.
The man refused to take part in an evidentiary breath test and checks revealed the man was also unlicensed.
The 42-year-old Templestowe Lower man had his car impounded for 30 days at a finger-licking cost of $913.70 or approximately 115 zinger burgers.
He is expected to be charged on summons with traffic offences.
