Applications are open for the next Economic Gardening Illawarra business development program that starts on Tuesday 12 April 2022.
Economic Gardening Illawarra is a structured business development program provided free to businesses located in the Shellharbour and Kiama Local Government Areas.
The program is delivered by business specialists who have a proven track record of building and assisting successful enterprises.
Over 600 businesses have participated in the program over the past 15 years and it has assisted many of those businesses to grow both their turnover and the number of their employees.
The program includes workshop sessions on strategy formulation; financial management; customer relationship management; digital strategy and online marketing; and advanced marketing techniques.
Economic Gardening targets businesses that have sound business models, are no longer start-ups and are ready to mature to the next stage of their development.
Shellharbour Mayor Chris Homer urged eligible businesses to take advantage of the program.
"Shellharbour City Council is proud of its reputation for helping small businesses become stronger and more sustainable," Mayor Homer said.
"The benefits to the businesses themselves and to the local economy and wider community are invaluable.
"The Economic Gardening program is an outstanding example of how Council continues to provide practical assistance to local businesses," he said.
