Congratulations to Ms Rachel Watson who has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Hydro Tasmania.
Minister for Energy and Renewables, Nick Duigan, said Ms Watson has been selected following an comprehensive recruitment process.
"Ms Watson brings her extensive experience and knowledge of renewable energy, including infrastructure development," Minister Duigan said.
"Ms Watson has previously been the CEO of Pacific Hydro Australia and Chair of the Clean Energy Council and currently is the Country Manager for global renewable developer OX2.
"This experience will serve Ms Watson well in leading Hydro Tasmania and the key role it plays in our vision to see Tasmania be a global leader in renewable energy, while supporting our state's economy.
"I also thank Erin van Maanen, Hydro Tasmania's Executive General Manager, Strategy, for her leadership while Acting in the CEO role since the retirement of Ian Brooksbank in October 2024."
Ms van Maanen will continue as Acting CEO until Ms Watson commences in the role on 14 April 2025.
