Cairo, 17 October 2024 - The League of Arab States (LAS) is pleased to invite you to a briefing by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) on their joint policy brief entitled 'Gaza War: Expected socioeconomic impacts on the State of Palestine | October 2024,' updating findings of their previous assessments of November 2023 and May 2024.
The policy brief provides updated estimates of the impact of the war on poverty, GDP, unemployment, and human development at the one-year mark of the war, as well as considered scenarios of the prospect of recovery after a ceasefire is reached.
