Ararat Outdoor Pool Closes After Successful Summer

As we bid farewell to the warmer weather, the municipality's outdoor pools have begun to wrap up after another successful season.

The 2024/25 summer season, boosted by warmer weather than the previous year, has seen a spike in attendance at Ararat Rural City's outdoor pools. Over 17,175 visitors have enjoyed the Ararat outdoor pool, with 4,071 at Lake Bolac and 1,765 at Willaura, marking a substantial increase compared to the previous season.

The municipality's outdoor pools have provided a refreshing escape from the heat and a place for community connection throughout the summer. Visitors enjoyed swimming lessons, relaxing swims, and opportunities to make cherished memories with friends and family.

Lake Bolac Peter O'Rorke Memorial Swimming Pool, and Willaura Outdoor Memorial Pool have officially closed for the season. Ararat Olympic Outdoor Swimming Pool will remain open, for lap swimming only from 6am to 9am, until Friday 11 April 2025. All outdoor pools will reopen once the warmer weather returns.

With the shift to cooler weather, our focus turns to preparing the outdoor pools for next summer season. Our team will work diligently to ensure the facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and enjoyment for our community.

Community members are encouraged to stay active and engaged during the off-season through the Ararat Fitness Centre's indoor pool and fitness classes.
