Following last month's highly successful Social Innovators program - which saw Ararat's young people participate in a two-day workshop at Alexandra Oval Community Centre to generate ingenious ways to care for our planet and its denizens - Crazy Ideas College will shortly launch the program's second stage.
The Ideas2Life Lab will teach Ararat College and Marian College students about the process of bringing an idea or project into the real world, focusing on the experiments they developed during the Social Innovators workshop. It provides teams with the coaching, skills and resources they need to communicate and collaborate with businesses and the community.
Notable figures within the region's business and community organisation network - known as Community Partners - will form part of the day's coaching segment. Their role is to offer guidance on marketing and connecting with local businesses, and help students develop a comprehensive project plan. These Partners will include Ararat Neighbourhood House's Teli Kaur, Ararat RSL's Toby Steele, Deputy Mayor Jo Armstrong, Cr Peter Beales, and Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison.
"After the students' incredibly creative work during the Social Innovators program, I'm looking forward to seeing their ideas evolve with this next stage of the Crazy Ideas College workshop series," Dr Harrison.
