The program for Ararat Town Hall's 2025 season has been revealed, with a packed slate of family shows, music and theatre, tribute bands, free lunchtime concerts, comedy, and monthly live music gigs from Ararat Live.
Events which will delight the kids include charming acrobatic theatre show The Librarian starring French artist Hippolyte, classical musicians Inventi Ensemble delivering an interactive performance of Cinderella, and bumbling bros Jon and Jero looking for all their missing stuff!
For those interested in the musical greats, the program includes Late, Late at Night, a theatrical re-telling of musician Rick Springfield's best-selling autobiography; Wendy Stapleton presenting an outstanding homage to Britain's greatest female pop singer in Dusty; Celebrating The Seekers, Keith Potger's solo tribute to the beloved '60s pop group he helped form; stars of the Australian stage and screen Gorgi Coghlan and Anna-Lee Robertson celebrating 37 years of friendship with classical and contemporary favourites in Songbirds; and two of Melbourne's premier tribute bands reviving sweaty '80s pub rock with Gold Chisel VS. The Power and the Passion.
In the comedy corner, the Town Hall will once again host the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow - now in its 27th year! The Roadshow is due to hit Ararat in late May, bringing the brightest stars from the Melbourne fest to our doorstep in a dynamic line-up of comedy legends and fresh faces.
And returning for its 15th year is Ararat Live, which delivers extraordinary gigs to Ararat throughout the year. 2025's line-up includes Canada's banjo-slinging Old Man Luedecke, jazz-licked legends Dave Graney and Clare Moore, and country-folk couple Small Town Romance.
"Experiencing a live performance tends to create the kinds of memories you just don't forget," says Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Jo Armstrong. "There's nothing like the art of a stage show, and that's the magic this year's wonderfully varied Town Hall program is delivering. Get out there and enjoy the arts!"
