This Sunday, discover Ararat Rural City's wide range of community volunteer groups and organisations at the Volunteer Expo.
The expo provides volunteer groups with the chance to proudly share their group's mission and activities, network with potential new volunteers, and demonstrate the powerful impact that volunteering has in our community.
The Volunteer Expo will be held in collaboration with the Ararat Market on Sunday 13 April 2025 at Elizabeth Park from 7.30am - 1pm. Exhibitors will include Australian Red Cross, Ararat Neighborhood House, Grampians Wine Inc, Project Platypus, Ararat Retirement Village, Lions Club and the CFA.
The Volunteer Expo also kicks off an early celebration of the annual National Volunteer Week, which this year will be held on 19-25 May 2025.
If you're looking to explore new interests, contribute to your community, and connect with others, the Volunteer Expo is the perfect place to learn about the municipality's many local volunteer groups and organisations who are seeking skilled and passionate volunteers.
Ararat Rural City Council Deputy Mayor and passionate volunteering advocate Cr Bob Sanders called on resident groups to engage with their community, and expressed his appreciation for the work of local volunteer groups.
"I strongly encourage our residents to come along to the Volunteer Expo this weekend to learn more about how you can get involved, give back to your community and make new connections through volunteering. Volunteering enriches your own life as well as contributing to the lives of others." said Councillor Sanders.
"I sincerely thank our wonderful community volunteer groups and organisations for their hard work and dedication. Your enthusiasm and expertise make an immeasurable difference to our community."
