The Arncliffe Youth Centre will be celebrating its opening in late March with an exciting series of free events running through April to include the school holidays and Youth Week.
"This facility is the first of its kind in Bayside. It is a community and Councillor driven initiative that was many years in the making," Mayor Joe Awada said.
"The Centre will focus on supporting, developing and empowering young people across Bayside."
Local Bayside residents aged 12 - 25 are invited to register for free activities during April that include:
- sports clinics
- yoga and meditation
- art classes
- self-defence classes
- youth open day
- laser skirmish
- short courses on car maintenance, cooking
- responsible service of alcohol / gambling (18-25 only)
- youth mental health first aid for carers, parents and grandparents.
The Arncliffe Youth Centre, a new sport, recreation and community hub for young people, is located in the Bloom complex at 9 Townsend Place, Arncliffe (just off the Princes Highway).
Council will announce more partnered programs, services and activities that will start after the launch program, as the centre prepares to become fully operational.
