Arrest Made in Alice Springs Aggravated Robbery 28 December

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 28-year-old man following an aggravated robbery in Alice Springs yesterday afternoon.

About 2:00pm police received a report through the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre that a man had entered a business in the suburb of East Side and produced an edged weapon before demanding a staff member hand over cigarettes and money.

The staff member handed the items to the man, who then ran from the store.

Alice Springs General Duties officers attended the scene and from CCTV footage that captured the incident a description of the offender was circulated.

The man was located and arrested soon after 2:40pm. He was later charged with aggravated robbery and remanded to appear in court on 30 December 2024.
