Arrest Made in Alice Springs Stolen Vehicle Case

Northern Territory Police have successfully apprehended two youths involved in the unlawful entry and theft of a campervan from a local business early this morning.

At approximately 3:30am, unknown offenders unlawfully entered a business on Stuart Highway and stole a campervan, which was driven throughout the CBD and Alice Springs area. The incident was reported to police around 4:30am.

General duties officers quickly responded, locating the stolen vehicle driving through Alice Springs. Police enacted a tactical response using tyre deflation devices. The vehicle was successfully spiked and brought to a stop on a dirt track near Blain Street.

Two youths, aged 11 and 14, were apprehended at the scene. They were conveyed home and left in the care of responsible adults. Both have been referred to Territory Families and the 14-year-old will be dealt with pursuant to the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
