As stated by Detective Inspector Callum McNeill, Waitematā CIB:
Police have arrested and charged a woman in relation to the death of Joseph Hart in January this year.
The 41-year-old died in the Victor Eves Park carpark in Orewa on 7 January.
An extensive investigation has been underway into Mr Hart's death since then, and Police have now arrested a female in connection to the death.
The 44-year old female was arrested yesterday evening, Thursday 8 June, and charged with reckless driving causing death.
She is due to appear in the North Shore District Court on 15 June 2023.
We can advise Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this matter.
The investigation team has informed Mr Hart's family of this development and we are continuing to support them through this process.
We thank both them and the community for their patience while we bring them a resolution to this matter.
