Arrest Of High-risk Offender At Bingil Bay

Following extensive investigations, detectives from Tully Criminal Investigation Branch and other QPS units have arrested a high-risk offender in Bingil Bay, near Mission Beach.

Police executed a search warrant at a Webb Court residence on October 29, locating a 27-year-old Mooroobool man wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant in relation to weapons, dangerous drug and evasion offences.

During the search, police allegedly located two handguns, ammunition and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle parked at the property.

A Mitsubishi Triton was also recovered, which had been allegedly stolen from Tanah Street, Mount Coolum on August 1.

The 27-year-old man was charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapons category D/H/R, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, authority required to possess explosives and drug-related offences.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear next before Innisfail Magistrates Court on November 25.
