Police are investigating two suspicious fires at North Mackay overnight, March 2.
Just before 11pm, emergency services were called to a car on fire in a carport on Palmer Street.
The car was destroyed and the carport damaged. No one was physically injured in the incident.
Just before 11.30pm, emergency services were called to a second fire on Palmer Street, at a unit complex.
The unit was unoccupied at the time and sustained significant fire damage.
Initial investigations indicate the fires are linked.
A 40-year-old man who was located nearby is currently assisting police with enquiries.
Investigations into the fires remain ongoing.
