Arson Charges After Extradition, Petrie

Police have charged a man who was extradited from New South Wales today, June 5, following investigations into an alleged arson of a business at Petrie last month.

It will be alleged around 12:20am, the man gained entry to the Beeville Road and Frenchs Road complex before starting a fire and fleeing the scene.

Police will allege as a result of the fire, several businesses were destroyed or severely damaged.

Following investigations by Petrie Detectives, a 35-year-old man was located and arrested in Edgecliffe, Sydney, on Tuesday, June 4.

He was extradited to Queensland this afternoon, and has since been charged with arson, enter premises with intent, attempted enter premises with intent.

He was refused police bail, and is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court tomorrow, June 6.=
