"Art in unseen spaces" is the new curatorial theme popping up around the town.

Outdoor bin shelters in Kiama and Jamberoo have been transformed into unique exhibition spaces, allowing artists and creatives to showcase their work in unexpected places.

This creative initiative kicks off with the captivating ocean photography of Brodie Whalan.

From toothy encounters with sharks to serene snaps of sea turtles and deep dives into underwater chasms Brodie's work truly embodies his belief that "imagery is super powerful, and so is the ocean".

Stay tuned for more innovative displays as we continue to celebrate local talent beyond traditional gallery walls. From October we'll be celebrating the work of artist, illustrator and art therapist Sally Conwell:

In the new year it will be the turn of artist, painter and designer Alexander Strong:

'Art in Unseen Spaces' celebrates our local artistic talent through paid opportunities for our artists/designers.

This strengthens our creative and cultural economy, a part of our Community Strategic Plan to provide 'A strong sense of community belonging where social and cultural life flourishes'.

The funding has been wholly provided from Kiama Council's Cultural Development program.
