Have you noticed any new photos on the footpath and buildings around town? Shoalhaven City Council is pleased to announce that the Bomaderry Art Walk Project has launched in time for Christmas.
The Art Walk is a temporary art installation proudly funded by the NSW Government, in associated with Council, through the Streets as Shared Spaces Program. The Art Walk features the work of Cambewarra based, internationally recognised, photographer Tamara Dean. Her works depict her response to the ways we were forced to reassess our relationship with our homes and regions through lockdowns, travel restrictions and COVID safety measures.
Ms Dean notes that the photos reflect on the 'opportunities to turn our focus closer to home and connect with the more immediate environment and to the beauty in our local area'. The photographs capture simple, personal interactions with nature and the environment, and encourage viewers to reflect on the natural landscape covered by footpaths and buildings.
The Art Walk images are being installed at 13 locations between the Bomaderry Train Station and Jellybean Park in Nowra. Why not take some time this summer to do the walk and discover these wonderful images?
