Ascot Park Indecent Assault

Police are seeking witnesses to an incident at Ascot Park earlier this month.

Just after 9.30pm on Friday 13 December, police responded to reports of a sexual assault which is alleged to have occurred in Sixth Avenue.

Upon arrival, police spoke to the victim, a woman in her 40's, who reported being assaulted by a man and he was last seen heading towards Marion Road.

Patrols quickly responded and set up cordons. They located the man hiding in the garden of a business premises on Marion Road.

The 54-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with indecent assault, assault with intent to commit an offence and carry an offensive weapon. He was refused police bail and appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court where he was remanded. He will re-appear in court on 25 March.

The man is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid 40's, over 180cm tall with a slim build. He was wearing a red baseball cap, a red t-shirt with a circle logo on it, blue track pants and sneakers.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and may have seen the man, to contact Crime Stoppers.
